Truffles looking down from Cat Heaven

Few weeks ago Truffles, a feral cat who moved unto my daughter's porch, died suddenly. Before she died, she brought four little kittens to the porch for my daughter to raise. She knew that my daughter would take good care of them, because last year Eva let Truffles stay in her bedroom to have three kittens under her bed.

Brown-red blue black handpainted snake

Orange and blue handmade, handpainted snake

A snake made from a tree branch.

I selected the branch for its curves, sawed off the nuts and smaller side branches, carved the head and the tail, and sanded the branch.

After the branch was prepared and sanded smooth, I painted it with acrylic paint and sprayed it with clear protective coating.

I finally added a kitty on the bottom shelf:

The photo was taken with a cell phone in artificial light at night, so the colors aren't quite right.

Starting embroidering a tapestry. Second day. 10-9-2013

I'm only working on it whenever watching a movie or an educational video on youtube, so it's going to take a long time to finish it. To give you an idea of size - it is a blanket. The face is 6 1/2 inches.
